    Description

    This is a MEDALLION or FOB from the
    UNITED STATES STEEL CORPORATION
    given to an employee for 25 YEARS SERVICE. It was found with a ribbon attached and the recipient is engraved as ESSIE DAHLIN - therefore it was probably intended to be a Medallion although it could just as easily be a WATCH FOB. The signature under the mans portrait is "E H Gray" who was the co-founder of the corporation along with J P MORGAN in 1901. The artists name is embossed over the shoulder of the man - "KILENYI" - this is the famous Medallic Artist - JULIO KILENYI. The other side is marked with the manufacturers name "W.&H.CO." - which is the Whitehead and Hoag Company - and "
    STERLING
